Frequently Asked Questions

  • That really depends! As you have no doubt experienced, searching for a therapist during the past few years during our collective mental health crisis has been incredibly challenging. My practice has usually been booked. I am going to be more likely to have openings for short-term trauma reprocessing or KAP therapy clients at this time. Either way, I encourage you to reach out to me via the contact form with your needs so that you can get a real-time update. If my practice is full, you will receive an auto-responder with a link to my wait list.

  • I do! You can access the form for my waitlist here. I cannot guarantee that, by filling this out, you will be offered a slot or how long it might take from the time you fill out the form until a slot opens up. These have been really unprecedented times in the field of mental health treatment, so my ability to predict when slots will open up has been very challenging.

  • I unfortunately do not have the capacity to provide individualized referrals. But here are some of the general recommendations that I make to folks when I can’t offer them slots:

If you are looking for LGBTQI-affirming psychotherapy, I encourage you to browse the profiles of my other colleagues at The Meeting Point to see if anyone else may match your preferences and insurance plan. You can reach out to them directly if you find anyone else that you would like to work with.

I would encourage you to try the Social Work Therapy Referral Service, Psychology Today, Zencare, EMDRIA, Thirdwave Directory, or check out this great list of resources compiled by my colleague, Aida Manduley, LICSW.

  • I offer virtual appointments via Doxy or Zoom (both are HIPPA-compliant versions). So far, the insurance plans that I am paneled with have continued to cover Telehealth appointments, but there is a possibility that some insurers will cease to cover Telehealth services (e.g. UnitedHealthcare). BCBS has announced that it will cover Telehealth services permanently. I also am offering in person appointments to adults who are fully vaccinated and boosted.

  • I am fully vaccinated and boosted. Everyone is required to wear a mask, regardless of their vaccine status, in the common areas of The Meeting Point (e.g. the waiting room, restroom, hallway). Once inside my office, I have an air filter running, hand sanitizer available and am OK with meeting without masks on if you are. I am also fine with staying masked if that is your comfort level.

  • Please navigate to the KAP section of my website to see if those questions have been answered for you. If they haven’t, please reach out to me via my contact form!

  • Unfortunately, not at this time. MDMA is expected to be legalized by the FDA as a treatment for PTSD around 2023, and then there will be a process for folks like myself who are in private practice to be able to bill insurance providers for it and to have a medical structure for offering it to clients in our practices. Psilocybin-assisted treatment is also making its way through FDA clinical trials at this time, and is not currently a legal option. What I can do is support you in preparing for and integrating your own personal psychedelic healing experiences. But I cannot be present for the experiences themselves. I can only do that with KAP right now.
